Services
We Accommodate bespoke requirements
Geoquest Marine Services Limited provides offshore/onshore geophysical and geotechnical soil investigations and vessel based surveys, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Study, ROV based detailed seabed mapping and pipeline umbilical and cable inspection surveys. Geotechnical investigations are carried out using heave compensated marine drilling rigs which are capable of operating in 1,500m water.

Geophysical Survey
AMIGE performs geophysical surveys on the continental shelf for a wide range of engineering applications.
These surveys are generally aimed to:
- study acoustic stratigraphy of the upper part of the soil section with following identification of stratigraphic units;
- study relief of the bedrock surface, and detect surfaces of unconformities, faults, tectonic dislocation zones, etc;
- detect any objects both natural and man-induced on the seabed surface and just beneath it which may be hazardous for engineering activities within the study area;
- predict geotechnical soil properties and assess their spatial variability.
In process of geophysical surveys on the Arctic shelf the following is executed in addition:
- study of sub-aquatic permafrost zone;
- detection and delimitation of gas-containing soil strata spreading within sub-aquatic permafrost
zone.
Geotechnical Survey
AMIGE have available own two special vessels, M/V BAVENIT and M/V KIMBERLIT, and a drilling pontoon (mini jack-up drill unit) designed for geotechnical drilling and soil sampling. By now more than 1300 geotechnical and CPT boreholes of total depth exceeding 42,000 m were drilled with these vessels on the Arctic shelf. Geotechnical drilling procedures and equipment to be used depend on the target application: taking of undisturbed soil samples from the given drilling depth and definition of physical and mechanical soil properties in-situ.
